Today you will enjoy the views of the lake from the top of Bled castle. Our next visit is the small Bled island that we will reach in a typical local wooden boat called pletna. Upon landing, we will be greeted in the so called “Poticnica”, where the local ladies will show you how they make “potica”. While it bakes, you will visit the church and the bell tower. Return to Poticnica and see how they will takethe “potica” out of the oven. Try various kinds (with walnuts, tarragon or poppy seeds, etc). Return to mainland and enjoy the famous cream cake. Afternoon free. Dinner at Gostilna Avsenik. Overnight in Bled. (B, D)
Today we will drive to Bohinj, another Alpine resort, and enjoy scenery of Lake Bohinj. Take a cable car to Mt. Vogel with beautiful view of the lake and Julian Alps. Have a quick lunch (stew type traditional dish) on Mt. Vogel. Return to Bled for overnight. (B, light L)
We leave Bled and head to the coast. We will take the road across the Predil pass through Log pod Mangrtom and Bovec. Short stop at Boka waterfall. Continue via Tolmin and Kobarid to the hotel on the Slovenian coast. Overnight in Portoroz. (B, L)
Begin the day with a drive to Dekani and a visit to the tourist farm Bordon for the olive oil tasting. Continue back to Koper and a visit to the Koper wine cellar, the biggest wine producer of the coastal region in Slovenia. We will enjoy a visit of their cellars where you can admire the barrel that until recently used to be the biggest in Europe. Conclude the visit with the tasting of some of their excellent wines. Return to Piran. Free time until dinner in the Pavel (or similar) restaurant. Overnight in Portoroz. (B, D)
After breakfast drive to Lipica and visit the stud farm. Lipica is the oldest European stud farm continuously breeding one of the oldest horse breeds. As such it has a remarkable significance as a cultural, historical and natural heritage for Slovenia and for Europe. Drive towards Dutovlje and visit the Lisjak homestead where you will enjoy wine tasting and delicious local cold cuts and cheese. Some free time before dinner with entertainment at Pek Gostilna (or similar). Overnight in Postojna. (B, D)
In the morning, we will visit famous Postojna caves, one of the world’s largest Karst natural wonders. Take a unique and adventurous ride with a special train through one of the most diverse cave systems in the world. Afterwards, visit the Predjama castle, perched high up in a vertical cliff. Dinner with entertainment at Morski konjicek (or similar). Overnight in Postojna. (B, D)
After breakfast we will drive to Ljubljana and enjoy a walking tour of the city. Visit the most significant sights of the old city centre: the picturesque central open-air market and The Three Bridges, both designed by the famous architect Joze Plecnik, the Baroque Town Hall and the Robba’s fountain. Check in to your hotel. In the late afternoon visit Pivovarna Union brewery. Hop on board of the Union Experience and enjoy the ride through a rich history of “Pivovarna Union”. Discover a mysterious world of production and indulge in the exquisite taste of their beer. A must try experience for all lovers of brewing industry. Finish the evening with a nice dinner at Pivovarna Union Restaurant. Overnight in Ljubljana. (B, D)

After breakfast drive to Maribor where you will board a timber raft. The happy mood onboard will be contributed to by the Splavarski trio (Rafter’s Trio) with their Slovene music and they will also enrich your experience onboard with a “Rafter’s Baptism” of one of the guests. The program also includes a presentation of river Drava timber rafting in past times, a rafter’s snack, “all you can drink”beverages and a tasting of traditional rafter’s coffee, which is brewed onboard in the raft’s kitchen just as it was in the old days. While rafting, you will have a light lunch (bowl of traditional goulash). Drive to Ptuj for a visit of the old town with Ptujska klet wine cellar. Try samples of their best wines. Drive back to Ljubljana for an overnight. (B, light L)
Today we will visit Skofja Loka, which is one of the oldest towns in Slovenia, besides Ptuj and Piran. Developed in the Middle Ages as a trade centre along the Trieste – Klagenfurt route, it dealt in iron, furs, and linen. We will visit the small Old town and the castle which houses one of the finest ethnographical museums in Slovenia. In the afternoon we will head to the Kamnik area to Gostilna Repnik where the representatives of the local culinary association
will prepare a special cooking class. They will show you how to prepare typical dishes of the area. The class will be followed by dinner, where those dishes will be served, and musical entertainment. Return to Ljubljana and overnight. (B, D)
