Day 1 – Sunday: Arrival in Ljubljana, Slovenia
On arrival at Ljubljana airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The balance of the day is free. Meet your fellow travelers tonight at a Welcome Dinner. (D)
Day 2 – Monday: Ljubljana & Bled
We tour Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia in the morning. Highlights include the picturesque open-air Central Market, the Three Bridges, Baroque Town Hall, and Robba’s Fountain. Then, continue to Bled; An Alpine Lake surrounded by high peaks, Bled was “discovered” by travelers in the middle of the 19th century. A sightseeing tour features the charming town and the lakeshore, and visits imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. Some free time, before we return to Ljubljana for the night. Day 3 – Tuesday: Postojna & Rijeka, Croatia
After breakfast and some free time in Ljubljana, the journey continues to Postojna, home to one of the largest caves in Europe. Tour this fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train and on foot. Afterwards, continue to the Adriatic coast, arriving to Rijeka. Orienatation city tour: while walking along “Korzo”, the lifeblood street of the city, you’ll see the inevitable City Tower, the Rijeka Resolution Square and Stendarac – the city’s flagpole, the Kobler Square, the Roman Old Gateway, St. Vitus’ Cathedral and much more. Overnight. (B)
Day 4 – Wednesday: Zadar & Sibenik
Morning drive to Zadar. Set out on a walking tour of Zadar historical center and admire the old walls and Port Gate built in 16th century. Visit the Square of the Five Wells, the Church of St. Donat, the Roman Forum and the largest Cathedral in Dalmatia, St. Anastasia. If there is a breeze, enjoy the “sea organ”, an amazing art installation. Continue on to Sibenik, a city of exceptional history and rich cultural heritage. Overnight. (B)
Day 5 – Thursday: Dubrovnik
Set out on a walking tour of Šibenik historical center and visit one of the most beautiful Renaissance Cathedrals of the Adriatic. Continue our journey towards Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of the Adriatic”. Overnight. (B)
Day 6 – Friday: In Dubrovnik
After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of Old Dubrovnik. Visit the Rector’s Palace, and see the Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column, Sponza Palace, the Dominican Monastery, and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is free to enjoy on your own. (B)
Day 7 – Saturday: Mostar & Split
Today, we will cross the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina and drive to Mostar, the city where east and west met. Built alongside the Neretva River is the beautiful “Old Bridge” (Stari Most) which is the heart and symbol of the city. Since 2005 the “Old Bridge”, as well as the old city of Mostar have been inscribed as a World Heritage by UNESCO. Walkthrough the streets, visit the Turkish house and view the mosque. Leave Mostar and drive to Split, for the night. (B)
Day 8 – Monday: Split
In the morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Then see the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and the Cathedral. The rest of the day at leisure to stroll through the beautiful streets of Split. Dinner, overnight. (B,D)
Day 9 – Tuesday: Departure from Split, Croatia
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
