Day 1: Arrive in Ljubljana
Pick up your rental car at Ljubljana Airport and drive to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore Europe’s smallest and greenest capital.
Day 2: In Ljubljana
Enjoy a private 2-hour walking tour of Ljubljana, visiting highlights such as the open-air Central Market, Three Bridges, Baroque Town Hall, and Robba’s Fountain. The rest of the day is free for independent activities. (B)
Day 3: Ljubljana to Portorož
Drive to the Karst region, stopping at Postojna Cave, one of the largest in Europe. Explore its subterranean world by miniature electric train. Continue to Predjama Castle, dramatically perched on a 100-meter-high vertical cliff. Finally, drive to Portorož, the “Port of Roses”, and explore its charming promenade. (B)
Day 4: In Portorož
Today, you have a full day at leisure. You may consider driving to the charming coastal town of Piran, Grožnjan, a town known for its vibrant artist community, or Motovun, a picturesque hilltop town and a defining symbol of the Istrian inland. Alternatively, you may choose to relax and unwind at a spa. (B)
Day 5: Portorož to Bled
Take a scenic drive to the Lipica Stud Farm, where you’ll have a private tour of the estate, stables, and the world-famous Lipizzaner horses. En route to Bled, stop in the quaint village of Štanjel. (B)
Day 6: In Bled
A private sightseeing tour showcases the highlights of this charming town on the shores of Lake Bled. Visit the imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. In the afternoon, drive to Škofja Loka, a beautiful medieval town with a castle overlooking the confluence of the Poljanska Sora and Selska Sora rivers. After your sightseeing tour, return to Bled. (B)
Day 7: Depart from Ljubljana
After breakfast, drive to Ljubljana Airport and return your rental car. You may continue your journey by joining one of our escorted tours or cruises (a complimentary transfer to the starting point is provided). (B)
