    Day 1: Friday – Arrive in Berlin

    You will be met and transferred to your hotel. There’s time to relax before meeting your fellow travelers and Tour Director for an orientation meeting at your hotel. (WD)

    Day 2: Saturday – Berlin

    Your morning sightseeing tour features views of the impressive Reichstag and lovely Schloss Charlottenburg. Continue through the city to see famous sights such as the Opera, Schiller Theater and Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The afternoon is free to explore this once divided city on your own. (B)

    Day 3: Sunday – to Prague

    After breakfast, we take you to Dresden, the beautiful Saxony Baroque city. Stop for an orientation tour, viewing Zwinger Palace and Semper Opera House. Then, on to Prague, the capital of Czech Republic.  (B)

    Day 4: Monday -Prague

    After breakfast. we cross the Vltava River to see the Royal Castle of Hradcany and visit the Cathedral of St. Vitus, the Old Royal Palace, St. George’s Basilica, and the Golden Lane with the Daliborka Tower. On to view the Old Town Square, the famous Astronomical Clock, the Jewish Quarter, St. Nicholas Church, the Charles Bridge, and more. The balance of the day is at leisure. (B)

    Day 5: Tuesday – to Vienna

    We travel by motorcoach to Vienna, the “City of Waltz.” There is free time to start discovering the city’s delights, from shopping to architecture to pastries. Overnight. (B)

    Day 6: Wednesday – Vienna

    We start the day with a visit to St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Hofburg Palace; then on to view Belvedere Palace, Prater Amusement Park, and the UN Buildings. Afternoon free. (B)
    Optional: Concert of Strauss’s & Mozart’s music. 

    Day 7: Thursday – to Budapest

    Today, we depart for Budapest, visiting Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia and Esztergom on the way. Dinner at your hotel. (B,D)

    Day 8: Friday – Budapest

    The sightseeing tour includes views of all the main attractions: The Parliament, the Royal Palace, the Castle Hill area, Fisherman’s Bastion, the Matthias Church, Heroes’ Square, and Gellert Hill with its Citadel. The rest of the day is free to explore the “Paris of the East”, shop along the Vaci Utca, nibble a delicious slice of apple strudel, sip some Hungarian wine, or perhaps join an optional excursion. (B)

    Day 9: Saturday – to Krakow

    The road to Krakow winds through the hills and countryside of Slovakia, past the Tatras Mountains, and into the rolling plains of Poland. (B)

    Day 10: Sunday – Krakow

    A morning sightseeing tour starts with a visit to Wawel Hill, a viewing of the Royal Castle and visiting the Royal Cathedral. Next, take a walking tour of the Old Town where you will see the Main Market Square and Renaissance Cloth Hall, and visit St. Mary’s Church. The afternoon is free to go for a stroll, browse through the shops, sample some “sernik” or “szarlotka”, or simply relax. (B)

    Day 11: Monday – to Warsaw

    This morning, join us for a tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the notorious concentration camp from World War II and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Late afternoon arrival to Warsaw, Poland’s capital. Dinner and overnight. (B,D)

    Day 12: Tuesday – Warsaw

    This 700-year-old capital is a symbol of Polish nationhood and the will to survive against great odds. Your sightseeing tour here includes a drive along the famous Royal Route from magnificent Castle Square to Lazienki Park and Palace, the summer residence of the last king of Poland. Pass by the Palace of Science and Culture (known as the “wedding cake”), the Saxon Gardens, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Monument to the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto, and Barbican. Continue with a walking tour of the Old Town, Old Market Square and St. John’s Cathedral. The rest of the day is free for shopping, a stroll through the city, relaxing in one of the many parks or gardens. Optional: late afternoon Chopin concert. (B)

    Day 13: Wednesday – to Vilnius

    Drive across the Polish countryside, cities, and towns as you head to the border of Lithuania on your way to Vilnius, arriving at the day’s end. (B)

    Day 14: Thursday – Vilnius

    Vilnius is located on the confluence of the Neris and Velnele Rivers. In Old Vilnius, visit baroque St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church and striking St. Anne’s Church. View Vilnius University, dating back to 1570, famous Gediminas’ Tower and Vilnius Castle. The afternoon is free to continue exploring on your own. (B) Optional: Town of Trakai, beautifully set on three lakes.

    Day 15: Friday – to Riga

    Depart this morning for Riga, the capital of Latvia. The balance of the day is at leisure to begin exploring the city with its interesting architecture, do some shopping, or go for a walk through the city. (B)

    Day 16: Saturday – Riga

    See Riga Castle on the banks of the Daugava River, the magnificent Dome Cathedral, St. Jacobs Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Parliament building, Liberty Monument, and the district of Art Nouveau houses on a morning sightseeing tour. The rest of the day is free to explore more, shop, or maybe sample some Latvian crepes. (B)

    Day 17: Sunday – to Tallinn

    Today’s journey will take us to Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, situated on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland. (B)

    Day 18: Monday – Tallinn

    On a walking tour of Tallinn’s Upper and Lower Old Town, view the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Next, see Toompea Castle and the 14th-century gothic Town Hall. Afternoon free. Enjoy a Farewell dinner this evening with your Tour Director and fellow traveling companions. (B,D)

    Day 19: Tuesday – Depart Tallinn

    Check out from your hotel. Departure transfer to Tallinn airport. (B)

     

    Note: Because of the narrow and cobbled streets, walking is the primary way of getting around. Please make sure to pack comfortable walking shoes.
